I'm still pondering buying an iMac, and at the moment, I can get an iMac 20" 2.16 with an X1600 from Apple, refurbed, for £750.
But the thing is, if Apple decide to offer a matte screen option on the new iMac, I'll be able to get one with a better graphics card for £950.
I don't plan on playing anything as taxing as BioShock, but I'd like the ability to run Half Life 2 at a decent rate in high detail, via BootCamp. Would the 20" iMac 2.16 do this? And is it worth waiting around to see if Apple do offer a matte screen option?
Also, what's the track record like with refurbs? I don't mind the odd blemish on the case, but I don't want to find my iMac has a scratch on the screen.
