I'm thinking about buying a new MacBook Pro Retina but came across a possible performance bug that has something to do with the new EFI update.

Is this bug still present? If so, do you guys think that a new update will fix it?

Yes, the bug is still present. And we hope Apple will fix it as some point. There is no info at ETA.

Anyway, that is not really a reason not to buy... the bug itself is more of an annoyance. You simply need to reset SMC when you notice performance degradation. Its a shame that Apple takes so long to fix it, of course, but its still a very nice computer :)

Of course, and I think I will buy it anyway.

But do you think it will be fixed? Some people think it is intentional from Apple though it seems like s bug to me :)
