So whenever I try to start it normally, it continually goes into recovery mode. I tried to restore it and I get the error, "the ipod "ipod" could not be restored because it is busy." So i tried to recover it while in disk mode...same error. I've tried this on multiple computers, both OS X and Windows. In windows, explorer just crashes whenever i try to view the drive(even in disk mode). I even went as far to attempt to reformat/partition the HDD with the disk utility, but didn't have any success. It just comes up with the same sort of busy error itunes gives me.
The ipod diagnostic menu scan says everything is good to go, but the newer ipod's diagnostic mode does not include a HDD scan, so i'm really thinking its just a corrupt HDD? Would buying a new HDD solve my problems? How can I test the HDD?(seeing as the 5G ipod's diagnostics menu doesn't have a "HDD Scan")
