Just curious why a natural conversation via two homepods (say between a parent and child in different rooms) more like a phone call or even walkie talkies isn’t possible at the moment, rather than sending audio snippets back and forth, which I have found quite cumbersome. Is it a technical limitation? Is it just more complicated? Some logical reason?

Apple tends to walk before it runs with features like these. It may come later.

This is the one thing I miss from my Echo’s, which is the “Drop In” feature. Apple touted the Intercom feature as a headliner, but it’s behind in this area. Overall though, I love the Homepod Mini’s.

I think Apple may be looking to avoid the “creeper” aspects of DropIn.
