Hi,

When I look at iPhones it appears that with the exception of the iPhone X that just came out, in Apple's heart of hearts they really liked the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 models the best and in those phones with the smaller screens it really didn't matter. As the phones got bigger it gets kind of crowded with having 20+ icons on the home screen. Does anyone here think they'll ever change that? They don't have to copy android, but I do think some sort of change is probably in order.

One reason i'm using the Galaxy S8 is that there are certain widgets that are very useful. The weather widget, google search, full page google calendar, and music widgets.

This is a major reason why I switched to Android and have not looked back. The static grid hasn't changed (more or less) in 10 years.... It is seriously time for a change. Simply allowing multi size icons with live information in the icon would go a long way to improving the home screen experience in my mind.

I hope not. Every effort to do something like this makes the interface a disaster. It seems there is a new generation of UI designers that never studied human computer interaction. If something looks good just put it there, who cares how terrible it is to interact with. Impossible to find things, borders that don't exist, 10 clicks to get somewhere when it used only take 2. No problem!
