I wish they'd shaved more from the top and bottom of the device to keep it in proportion. Seems like it's too tall now they've reduced the width.

I don't think it is too tall. It more closely resembles a 16:9 tablet now being thinner vertically, but maintains a 4:3 screen.

Jesus H. The new iPad air is actually SHORTER than the previous models. It just looks taller because the left and right bezels are not as wide. Good grief.

1.2mm shorter. 16.2mm less wide. It looks too tall.

So I guess you think the mini and the iPhone and the iPod touch looks too tall? The new iPad air fits perfectly with the new design language. Not sure what your issue is especially since you haven't even used it yet. The wider bezels for landscape make perfect sense. Otherwise you would be complaining that you are always accidentally hitting the screen with your thumbs.

In two years, they will probably reduce the top and bottom bezel by quite a bit, and the sides slightly, while making it 1mm thinner. Two years later, they might make it full edge-to-edge (with better accidental touch recognition), along with a camera and fingerprint scanner integrated under the LCD (I believe they have patents on that). Perhaps you just touch any of your fingers to the screen and it instantly unlocks? Two years after that it might be flexible, though that may be pushing it.

And a few years after that you will have the iPad Lens, a contact lens you put on and it reads your hand gestures and displays images directly into your retina. If you thought people talking to themselves on bluetooth earpieces looked weird, wait till you see iPad Lens users....

Chill dude... Are you Jony Ive? In my opinion it looks too tall. It's ok to have an opinion you know. I'd have liked them to shave a few more mm from the top and bottom to keep the proportions. Actually I do think the iPhone 5 looks too tall and I own one.

Yeah, but… it also isn't the right shade of grey. People will laugh at me if I hold it.
