Phil could hold it in his hand. The picture I saw seems to make it look too small to be a tablet. Then again, I don't usually touch devices that small.

Some early hands on are actually reporting it's too big.

IMO- the mini release is a major fail.

I was going to say it's too big!

If anything they should have shrunk it down to 7 inch screen to make it even more portable... but then phil wouldn't have been able to make those bogus claims during the presentation about how the screen has "so much more viewing space" than android counterparts

If they made it smaller (7") then I would not buy it. As a magazine reader I found the 7" tablets to small and the iPad Mini 8" screen it the right size to be 35% more readable and lighter than my heavy iPad 3.

It's awful.... I think being half way I between an iPad and iPhone is a ridiculous idea. They will probably fly off the shelves but I won't be having one. The spec for the price isn't justified in my opinion.

It will have its strengths, if you have kids who want to use it then maybe the size will suit, if you don't have an iPad already.. Yeah might be an option.

I have a 4S and iPad 3rd Gen and doubt I'll upgrade either until at least the new iPhone or next iPad come out. May wait even longer if the 'upgrades' aren't major.

Overall? iPad mini not for me but can see its potential.

Ipad and Samsung galaxy note 2 on Verizon. This is going to be my winning combination!

i think they filled the need for every size now

4" … 7.9" … 9.7"

nothing else needed

How were they bogus when they were demoed side by side?

Or has Apple now got some sort of patented mind control that made us see something their way.

And Google/Asus wouldn't have made a big issue of any inaccuracy shortly after it aired, if there was.

facts aren't bogus

Well... I think it's the perfect size to take it away with you and use it anywhere. Also, perfect weight. Problem? Screen size. Can't see myself editing photos or reading technical PDFs on that tiny screen. Probably better for books. Gotta try it out although the lack of a retina display might be a deal breaker in that aspect too.

I sure is.

I refuse to use an iPad that is smaller than my Johnson. So i'm sticking with my iPad 2.

I think you're confusing an iPod nana for an iPad, and your Brain for your Johnson.

Yeah...it's kinda a trolly response, but I mean come on...that comment probably owes royalties to Massengill.

Dude I really laughed out loud on this response. Great stuff! Hey if you can't let others make fun of you then you're just not living right.

just call me girth
