like the question, cause im considering on gettting one.

im often outdoors and the sun bugs the hell outta me, and the 3G's screen isnt bright enough for outdoors.
 
It's a better screen with higher resolution. Not sure if it's technically brighter but it does look much better side by side.
 
It is seriously much clearer and higher resolution, however having both phones I noticed I have to turn the brightness to 50% on the i4 to get it to look brightness wise like my 3GS at about 25-30%, so that is the one thing that bothered me, but I have 25 days to keep comparing, so we will see.

I will say both screens are really nice, but it is much easier on the eyes with the i4 screen, pure color and a wicked display
