Just kinda curious, as title above.

If someone has a magnet and an iPhone 7/8 (normal or Plus) or iPhone X could they test it out for me.

I'm really curious to see if the sim tray is actually magnetic and attracted. Could possibly help if people [lose] their sim trays sometimes.

Thanks

I am confused how does one find a lost sim tray using magnets? How does one lose the SIM tray?

My friend dropped in the grass when changing sim card while walking and the tray fell into a patch but she went panic and now is having trouble finding the iPhone X sim tray. I told her should have sat down on a ground surface instead of walking but i think i did not want to aggrevate her by pointing out her faults further making the situation worse for her.

Wondering if any chance does apple do a sim card tray replacement even at a minor fee. Only gripe is ever since the iPhone 7/7+ series all the sim card trays had an engraved IMEI on it so not sure if that can cause. Phone works just fine, right now she is using her old iPhone 6s until this is sorted.

Has she contacted apple about it? Her best bet is to goto a store. Maybe they can give her a sim tray from a broken phone someone is turning in?
