if it isnt, then what happen to all the cameras apple ordered?

im talking about the reports of apple making a huge order of 3gs cameras, and if the nano cameras are not 3gs cameras then apple has to be doing something with them, like putting them on the touch in hopefully the near future.

I doubt it's the same camera as the iPhone 3GS, otherwise it would be capable of 3MP photos.

It's limited to VGA video. We'll see the reviews but I am guessing it is worse quality than the iPhone 3GS.

Expect Apple to add still photo taking on the Nano next year. My guess is that the photo app to go along with it wasn't good enough to impress Steve at launch time so they left it out. They need something they can charge $5 for next time, don't they?

Not going to happen on the nano. The sensor for still pictures would require a thicker case. The video camera is just a gimmick to increase sales over nano clones.

Note - The only time you will see a camera in an iPod Touch is when MicroSoft puts one in the Zune.

According to the teardown from iFixit, it's a VGA camera if I'm not mistaken.

And that the iPod nano alone is thinner than the iPhone camera.
