I have a MacBook Pro late 2010. I need to know:
1) if the logic board is connected to the monitor
2) or could affect the monitor in any way?

Yes it is it's the logic board that contains the gpu and signal processor etc

Could it be the cause of screen disfunction then? Discoloration, flickering, etc? Especially when theres no physical damage?
 
First thing you should check is if it's the cable. Power up to desktop and then move your screen back and forwards if it produces your issue its the cable not the logic board.
