Don't flame me if I'm wrong but the comparison chart here says that the MacBook pro 13" can max at 8 gigs.

I haven't returned any searches with much sucess and was just wondering if it is worth doing 8gb instead of 4gb?

I know the more the better but can you really tell?

Will it make a game like WoW run any better?

The only thing that may make WoW run better on a MacBook Pro would be going for a 7200RPM HD over a 5400RPM HD - but even then it won't be much of a difference.

Well 8GB is really expensive so just get 4GB.

8GB DDR3 ram upgrade costs about $1000 USD (from NewEggs or something)

If I had that much money for a RAM upgrade, I'd get 4GB (2GBx2) and a nice SSD (256GB SSD should do the job) and it'll be more noticeable than having 8GB of RAM.

no, spend the $1000 and upgrade to a 15" w/9600

Absolutely not. To upgrade to 4GB is like $50-75, 8GB is $750-1000 and most will not notice a big performance boost.

if you look hard enough you can find 1x4gb chips from Samung for $277, or $554 for 8GB. Still expensive, but nearly half of Apple's price for the exact same Samsung RAM.

What gets me is how the RAM companies can continually get away with what amounts to price fixing every time a new computer comes out.

I am unaware of what SSD's do and how much thy run?

Can someone link me a commonly bought one and what does it do to make it worth it?

My computer has hynix memory in it.

SSD's are flash based storage devices that can be used instead of hard drives. I don't know that it's actually worth buying one over a hard drive, I was just suggesting better things you could spend your money on if you wanted better performance out of your computer. With an SSD you will get WAY faster load times in everything you do.

Overall, most agree this is the best SSD out right now. Half way down there's a video you could watch to learn more about SSD's and what they do.

I'm pretty sure WoW will run pretty well without a lot of modification. I would upgrade to 4gb of ram- but do not waste your money on 8gb. If you want to take it a step futher still, you can consider buying a solid state drive to replace the existing hard drive but they are expensive and probably not very necessary in your case. In a year or two SSD prices might come down enough where it would make more sense to purchase one though.

Tell us what you've done to max out 4 GB and we'll tell you if you need 8.
