14", even with the M1 Max, is generally un-phased by general browsing and watching movies. Doesn't get hot and the fans don't turn on.I’ve seen in lots of reviews that the fans on the 14” MacBook turn on a lot more than the 16”. Anyone who has it, does the fans turn on for general tasks like browsing or watching movies and does the 14” get hot? Thanks
Thank you. Can I ask if you’ve noticed if the general screen brightness when browsing, etc is brighter than the older models, even when not viewing hdr? Thanks14" M1 Max here since launch day - I have yet to hear the fan. 2x 4k60 monitors connected with tons of apps open and it's running nearly cool to the touch. Leaving it in bed buried in the comforter with a YouTube video playing, cool to the touch. Cinebench didn't even ramp them audibly. Haven't worked on any big premiere projects yet which will be the true test, but all of the above scenarios made my 16" i9 MBP scorching hot, throttling, and max fans.
