Hi, title asks the question. I have a mid-2009 13" MBP that does supply bus power over the FW800 port in sleep mode. But the mid-2012 15" MBP does not. Is this right? I have never seen a Mac not supply bus power in sleep mode.
This makes using a bus-powered external drive quite a pain. If I sleep my Mac, the drive is disconnected upon wake. My old MBP would spin down the drive but keep the power on so that it woke up with the computer.
I have tried resetting the NVRAM and SMC, no dice.
Related question: does anyone know if the Thunderbolt-to-FW800 adapter supplies bus power in sleep mode?
