Going from a 6S+ to a 12 mini. For whatever reason, the thing is killing my hands. Maybe me nerves are too sensitive from RSI or something, but I didn't have this problem with the 6S+.

Could it be the device is too small, and so my grip is more closed? Could it be the square edge rubbing on my palm? I'm using the Apple silicon case. Maybe I should try a different one.

Maybe you just gripping too hard?

Did you use a case on your 6s? Try to relax your hand a little and give it a bit more time to adjust.

The edges for a problem for me on the bigger and heavier 12 Pro. But no problems so far with the Mini.

I actually had it the opposite way around. The normal 12 gave me horrendous hand cramp, it was so bad i had to send it back. Case improved it slightly but still suffered.

The mini I had no issues. I’m actually taking it back anyway as its too small and regrettably sticking with my XS.

Its strange how millions can have no issues yet others have problems. My theory is certain hand sizes can have problems. If your/my hands were maybe a mm or 2 smaller/larger you’d probably have no issues.

Let’s see a picture of you holding the mini as you normally would.

Honestly, I like the new (old) design Apple went with this year, but for me personally the rounded shape of the previous iPhones (6 to 11) is much more comfortable. Aesthetically though, the 12s look stunning.

I guess the comfort level is different for everyone. With the rounded edges, I found that I gripped the phone harder because it didn’t feel secure in my grip. The squared/flat edges of the 12 PM feels much more natural to me and I’m not holding the phone as tightly.
