So, I'm in the market for the new Apple TV, and my local retailers (only official resellers in my country, no way of buying directly from Apple) don't have 128Gb version in stock anywhere. I've been waiting for a while - and now I'm thinking of getting the 64Gb version that is available.

I don't actually need the extra space, as I will be using the ATV for streaming - and I don't need the ethernet port. However, I have recently upgraded my IKEA smart devices to their new Thread-capable hub. Will I benefit from having Thread in ATV? Because that's the sole reason why I wanted the bigger model in the first place.

To be honest, I'm not even sure how Thread works, I know it forms a local network for smart devices - but not sure how ATV factors into this.

Any help/advice?
