Now that the new ipad mini is going to get retina display is apple going to increase the bottom memory space? 16gb was good when there was no retina on the iphones or ipads but with retina display apps just got FAT!

My guess is no - base model will still be 16GB. But the new 9.7" iPad will start with 32GB for $499 to help differentiate once the mini gets a retina display.

They didn't increase it for the iPhone 5s. So it seems very unlikely they'd do it for the Mini. If anything they'll do it for the iPad 5 only, but I don't even see them doing that. Right now they offer 4 options for the iPad 4, and the base is still 16GB

Do you mean memory (RAM) or storage? 16GB is storage.
