Is the new Maps updated in 3.0 or only 3GS?

I have the iPhone 3G. I was watching the guided tour for the 3GS and I found the updated Maps app to be awesome with the whole touching the circle again to know which direction you're heading... However, is that only going to be on the 3GS or will it be included in the 3.0 update? Thanks!

Unfortunately, that will only be on the 3G S. This is because the 3G S includes a digital compass.

It will only be on the 3G S as that model has the digital compass built in.

Edit: I posted a second too slow.

This was one of the deciding factors

for me I really think many are under rating the compass!
