Is the new Mini-Display Port different from the previous one?

I have the mini displayport to DVI for my white macbook.
I'm planning to get the new macbook pro, I wonder is it same as the one for the new macbook pro??

The one on the white MacBook is a mini-DVI port; the ones on the aluminium computers are mini-DisplayPort. Two different connections entirely.
