Is the original Apple Watch gen 1/0 compatible with xs and max?

I can't find this information any where. I still have the original Apple Watch which I am fine with. I know you can't update to watch os 5 but will it still work with the new iPhones?

It just works on normal Bluetooth and WiFi technology. It should work without issues.

Don't know about the new phones, but my wife's S0 on watch OS 4.x.x does work with iOS 12.0.1 on her 7, and that should be enough, right?

I have both a Series 0 & 4 Apple Watch working on my iPhone Xs Max.
Although the series 0 is hideously slow compared to the series 4 it works just fine on watch os4.
