Is the otterbox defender the best hard case for the 3GS?

I'm looking for one. Dropped my virgin 3GS and now has already a super tiny chip and a backplate crack . Is the otterbox absolutely the best with protection and functionality?

In my opinion the Otterbox Defender is the best protector for my 3GS.
My Defender is battle scarred, but the phone is unscathed. Protects against dust, dirt, drops, more drops, and getting caught in the rain. It is not water proof, but is water resistant.
