Is the panoramic photo capability iPhone 5 exclusive or an iOS 6 feature?

I'm confused. I thought this had leaked as part of iOS 6 beta if you jailbroke, but then Apple shows this when they are showing off the hardware. So which is it?

well according to apples website in their comparison between the 4, 4s, and 5 it shows that the 4s wil be able to do panorama as well.

Except for Pano it says "Handy semi-transparent guide helps you line up shots perfectly"
iOS6 just lets you sweep the phone and it does the rest for you
