The 5/5s screen seems to be mounted flush and is protected by the angled metal that runs around the screen. The screen on the 6 almost looks as if it bulges above any of the actual frame of the phone. Concerned it may be a little more vulnerable to drops/breaks due to that, even though it's got its new "ion-strengthened glass"

Thoughts?

I don't think the screen is protected on the 5s in the first place...

Well, it is. I'm looking at it now. :) Granted it's not a lot, but the glass actually rests inside the metal angled edge of the phone. So if it's dropped at anything less than 100% face down, the edge that contacts the ground first would be metal and not glass. If dropped high enough, the metal would deform and still crack the corner of the glass, but for smaller drops, the screen is protected.

On the shots of the new phone (particulary the ones from the side) it seems the curve of the metal edges stops before the phone's thickest point. So the rest of the thickness of the phone is the glass with the bevel of the glass curved to match the curvature of the metal on the sides. The result is the glass sits higher than the metal. (does that make sense...hard to describe). So dropping it face-down at say a 30 degree angle to the ground would result in the actual glass making contact with the ground. Not good.

Oh yes there will be many more broken screens.

Covering it up with a big ugly case kinda defeats the purpose of the sleek design. Oh well....
