The SD card reader just stopped working on my 4 months old imc, together with the hard drive recall and slight yellowish tinted screen, I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied with choosing the imac as my main PC.

Do you guys know if the sd card reader is soldered on to the motherboard? I’ll call Apple in the morning to see how long it will take them to fix this problem, and if they offer home collection service.

Just want some second opinions from people who had similar problem. Call me cynical, but I don’t want to take whatever solution Apple offers me as the gospel.

Many thanks

EDIT: Had a chat with an Apple Care rep, and I was not haapy with their customer service. This is the 1st time I had trouble with mac hardware after owning couple of trouble free mac laptops. I'm going to drop it off to the Apple store and get a Dell 27" ultrasharp to use with my laptop in the main time. As soon as the imac gets back, it is going up on ebay and I'm going back to have windows as my main pc.
