Last year Apple used a special PVD process for the gold color which turned out to be slightly more durable. This year they said the same thing about the Sierra blue having several layers of nanometer metallic ceramics. Does this mean that it is more durable as compared to the other colors?

The sierra blue iPhone is perfection. 🥰

Any phone is durable, don’t go putting keys and coins in the same pocket as your phone, you’ll be right.

Also, take the phone out of its case once every week and give it a good clean. 👌

I wish they'd add Seirra Blue to their "standard color" options, but sadly I can already foresee that it will go the way of Midnight Green and Pacific Blue...I guess it's an extra incentive not to upgrade too soon lol! Such a stellar color.

Tim Cook touted the durability of Sierra Blue in the September Apple Event.

Below is Apple press release where it is mention again.

“The all-new Pro lineup features a premium flat-edge design, crafted with exceptional materials, including the surgical-grade stainless steel band, with an elegant finish that is resistant to abrasion and corrosion, and a textured matte glass back. Both models are available in four striking colours including the all-new sierra blue, created using multiple layers of nanometer-scale metallic ceramics applied across the surface for a stunning and durable finish.”
