Audio chips

iTouch uses the same Wolfson audio chip a iPhone (WM8758BG) and not the Cirrus audio chip as the iPod Classic/Nano ..

As someone knows which audio chip is found in these (where in the world did you find the info?), anyone happen to know which chip was used in the last gen iBook G4 and which one is used in new MacBooks?

I'm interested in the quality of the DAC...

according to iLounge, iPod classic Cirrus audio chip have problems:

while Wolfson audio chips have been used in iPhone, iTouch, iPod 5G, iPod 5.5G and probably nano's as well.

The 3G iPod nano and iPod classic are basically the same hardware, aside from size, battery, and memory.

While the iPod touch (not iTouch! come on people!) and iPhone use the Wolfson DAC, they don't sound anywhere near as good as the 5G and 5.5G iPods.
