Is the SuperDrive really that loud on the new MBP?

I heard the SuperDrive on the new MBP was loud? Can somebody confirm this?

I think for some reason, over time the superdrives may have gotten louder. My Bros Early 07 BlackBook was quieter than my late 07 BlackBook which was quieter than the BlackBook I have now.

I've noticed this as well. The Intel iMac had a much louder drive them my PowerPC one.

omg those samples sound terrible. Isn't it annoying? When your sitting normaly on your desk in front of your notebook? (not with your ear as close to the drive as possible)
I hope it's not.
