First of all I'm not running the beta. I remember the spotlight animation was just changed to blur the content, and bringing up Siri is also a real blur. On iOS 7, when I swipe to unlock, the image just fades into a blurred version. What does it do on iOS 8?

BTW, all of Yosemite uses the fading image technique, probably because of the more varied levels of hardware supported. The real blur looks better.

In iOS 8, it does the same thing as it does in iOS 7, it is just a fading image. I'm hoping that it changes in a future version to match the new Spotlight blur.
