Is the USB hub on Apples USB keyboard 2.0? Will devices connected to the usb ports on the back of the keyboard work at 2.0 speed?

It's the white USB one. Bought in 2005.

I'd go for that one.
System Requirements.
Two USB ports required.
The USB 2.0 Keyboard has two USB plugs - One connects the Keyboard and USB 1.1 hub to your computer, and the second connects the USB 2.0 Dock directly to a USB 2.0 port on your computer, providing full power and speed to the Dock.

Meh - I dont mind unpowered ports, as long as they would be USB2

Yes, the Apple keyboard USB ports are seriously wimpy with the power, even some SD card readers won't work.

some macs will mount my jumpdrive but some wont, when plugged into keyboard.

I have noticed this at my school. We have PM G4 MDD systems and on most of them the USB in the keyboard works for my flash drive but a few of them just give me a low power warning. Go figure. Then I just plug into the back of the screen.
