Is there a a way I can customize the start screen when my mbp is turned on?

I just want to reorganize the different buttons. I sometimes accidently turn off my macbook pro. It's annoying. Especially if I have to get up quickly to do something for someone. Can it be done?

You can alter the settings with the Accounts section (the Login Options) of Preferences. I believe you can further adjust settings with programs like Onyx (I think it's Onyx...)

The second one. I would like to do that, but sometimes I have to get up so fast, I instinctively go to "shut off". It's annoying.
