Is there a difference between the last Gen and current Gen Airport Extreme

I keep cheaping out and getting crappy netgear routers and after every 9 months they just keep dropping signals. I am looking for a airport extreme and can find last Gens for 60-70 bucks used and the current gen one for 100-110 bucks.

Is there a difference between the two? My roommates and I have the regular comcast cable speed that comes with our bundle.

Yes, there is. Numerous tests proved the latest gen has a far better Wi-Fi signal.
