Is there a disk defragmenter for a Mac?

The reason I ask is that I have a hard drive in my car that work thru the factory radio. It works as long as I don't format the drive with my mac, however it does require to be formatting with a PC.

I've noticed that the hard drive has been a little sluggish. Is there a disk defragmenter or some type of mac software [preferably free] that can clean up this hard drive?

Requiring a PC for formatting implies that FAT or NTFS format is used, and thus a PC is required for defrag.

(Or, more precisely, Windows is required. You could use Bootcamp.)

Thanks, that made a lot of sense. I do have boot camp I'm just trying to keep from using it as much as possible.

As long as you had Journaling enabled, i didn't think you need to defragment a Mac?
