Is there a Firefox Viewer for USPTO Tiff files?

Is there a viewer for Firefox and OS X 10.5 that works on the US Patent Office site? I have tried the Firefox forums and they have no answer. The Quicktime viewer for Safari shows a nearly useless magnified image and as far as I can tell you cannot save the file. The viewer for PCs is Alternatiff which works great.

There's a TIFF viewer plugin here, not sure if it works with the USPTO site but it might be worth a try.

I tried the trial version and it works fine as a viewer on the USPTO site but you have to buy the PRO version ($50!) to save as a TIFF file, which is what I need to do.
Alteratiff did it all and was free. Sigh!
