I know this can be done in the "Sharing" menu of the system prefs, but unfortunately that item is locked out on the computer I'm currently using (it's a work machine, locked down, etc.)

Is there a little app that will share the ethernet connection over airport? I have an iPad and iPhone that I use, and I'd like to connect at speeds faster than 3G.

If you can't even use Internet sharing due to corporate policy (or whatever IT agreement you signed as a condition of working wherever you're working) why would you be allowed/able to install an unauthorized application do perform the restricted function?

I have local admin rights, and can install programs to the computer.

I am sticking it to the man!!! Take that!

Just joking, I'm looking for a temporary workaround until a wireless network is actually installed. Currently I've just been tethering off an iPhone.

If you have local admin rights, why not unlock the sharing pref pane?

Hi Intell,

That's a great idea... Can you give me a hand with how I do that? Currently it's just not there. It isn't locked, the only item I have in "internet and wireless" is "Network"

Thanks!

Go to the Sharing pref pane and click on Internet Sharing. The settings you need are in there.
