I have a (jailbroken) iPhone 3GS and I believe the battery is getting worse and worse. I'm pretty careful to keep thinks like push notifications, bluetooth, SSH, etc off when I don't need them and I rarely run any apps in the background.
I could be wrong, but I understand that Apple does cover the battery under the standard 1-year warranty and their definition of a defective battery is when it lasts less than 50% compared to its specified battery life (is this correct?).
Before I go back to the stock firmware and possibly try to get warranty replacement, I thought I'd ask if anyone actually knows how the folks at Apple actually test the battery when you bring it in, and if there's a way for me to test it personally before going through the effort of bringing it in for warranty service? I really don't want to give it to them for days only to have them tell me it's only dropped 25% and therefor not ready for warranty replacement.
Thanks in advance!
