I've jailbroken my iPhone (iOS 6.0.2), and I am wondering is there a jailbreak tweak that prevents the screen from timing out so that I don't have to press the home or the power button?

Ideally, the tweak would dim the brightness down to one level above total black so that the screen is still readable. Then when I slide to unlock the screen brightness would increase.

Yes, I know something like will lower the battery life.

Not sure if I totally understood what you meant but do you know ScreenDimmer by Yllier?
It is on Cydia.

Normally the iPhone will time out to black the lock screen if no physical input has been sent within a given time. Then you have to press the power or home button to wake the device, then you have to slide to unlock it.

I am looking for a hack that just lowers the brightness to the lowest level so that the lock screen is visual and all I have to do is slide to unlock it. Eliminating the need to press the power or the home button.

I get it now but I can't help you then. :/

So instead of turning the screen off after 60 seconds or whatever, it just dims it and sends you to the lock screen.

Kinda neat idea, but as far as I'm aware there isn't anything that can do this at the moment. I suppose you could turn the Auto-Lock to 'Never'.

Firstly you can turn off the auto lock feature

Second the tweak youre looking for exists - it is called SCREENDIMMER by Yiller - its costs $$ but is worth it. You can set the screen to dim afte x amount of time and then a second option to turn the back light off completely, onlu leaving the lcd active. A simple movement of the phone or a touch of the screen reactivates lightt

There's also 20 Second Lockscreen. It may give you what you want. Ignore the name, install it and look through it's options before you say no. Not sure about screen dimming, but it will keep your screen on, even if you lock your device.

I looked through the 20 second LS app and it seems to only apply to the LS

I just downloaded SCREENDIMMER and it is a nifty app, lots of options.
