Is there a layer of paint on the surface of the sides of iPhone 11? If that's the case, will the paint fall easily if I go without any phone case?

if you chip it, it’ll be raw metal underneath. The anodizing is tough but the aluminum can only withstand so much.

Anodization is a heat cured process, so it’s fairly durable. The biggest enemy against the aluminum, is if it chips, that can spread.

You're thinking of powder coating, where a heat-cured coating is applied to the base metal.

Anodization is an electrochemical process that alters the top layer of the metal via a chemical bath and electrical current. It can he soft or hard, depending on the process used.

You’re correct, that’s what I was thinking. I was also thinking PVD was applied in a similar manner to how it’s used as a protective film on firearms.

I often have sharp nails on my fingers, would it scratch the Aluminium so much? I don't want to go with case since iPhone 11 is already quite big
