Hi,

I switch back and forth b/w Android and iOS and recently switched from an iPhone XS/Apple Watch to a Galaxy S10/Active Watch 2. With that being said the Apple Watch is better and I'd prefer to continue using that. My personal usage is mostly for notification management on a smart watch. I'm also aware that there is a trick to using it just on LTE but don't want to do that bc of the monthly cost and shorter battery life.

With all of this being said, do you think that Apple is missing out on market share by not having the Apple Watch be able to pair with an Android phone?

Thanks

I use an Android phone but also have an apple watch so I use an iphone 8 just to keep my fitness records in the health app,I would love to pair my apple watch with my android phone but sadly that's never going to happen.

I think Apple's intent is to make it extremely hard to leave their ecosystem. Once you use a Mac, iPhone, have an Apple Watch and AirPods, the difficulty in leaving becomes exponential. This is why I don't think they'll make an Apple Watch that works with Android phones.

In not so sure myself. Already now you can change complications, watch faces, and even update the OS, all without needing the Apple Watch app.

We may not get to the point of an LTE Watch connecting to Android, but a GPS one? I can see that.

After all, what better way to totally destroy Google Wear than by opening up AW to Android users?

If they made it work with Andriod, it would increase the likelihood of converting Android users to Apple by exposing them to Apple.

They seem to be making the apple watch more and more independent of the phone (slowly), so who knows, anything can happen.
