Is there a minimum workout time for the Watch to announce halfway point?

Hi. My watch used to announce the halfway point with my OTHER workout. I upgraded to 9.0. I only did a five minute workout today, but there was no halfway point announcement. Is it because of WatchOS 9 or b/c I only did a 5 minute workout?
