I want the screensaver to run, but my desktop be visible and "alive." I know I've seen this somewhere. So, if I get an IM, or an email, I can look over and see that something has happened, but the screensaver is still running. I seem to remember an old screensaver that moved around the screen like a magnifying glass, but the display was still "alive." I thought Fluid did this, but it doesn't seem to.

Any input is welcomed.

This was an old Windows screensaver!

Can't help you there, just brought back memories...

I don't recall a screensaver for mac or windows that does this but it would be nice....I'm thinking a pretty standard black screensaver that would have mail/IM message notifications appear in a bottom corner. If there was something like this I would definitely be interested. It would keep me from bumping my mouse to check everything....especially at nite because my machine is the bedroom. Anything to get rid of the "glow" would be great :)

Sounds like it might have been one of the After Dark modules.

I miss After Dark. Such a pity Berkeley Systems discontinued it.
