That's no help, as it doesn't address the OP's original question of automating window centering.

I have to keep doing it manually.
I can help you with automatically centering Finder windows with FinderFix - it's simple to use and works great, but that only helps you when working in the Finder. I'm certain Keyboard Maestro can do what you want, but I've never used it and it does appear that it would require some configuring on your part.

I've just come to take it for granted that any new Window I open on Mac OS will be smaller-than, centered-within, and behind any existing Window.

I treat it as a cognitive hide-the-window game, where I am required to spend time I do not have to find the things I thought I had.

It's really fun!
