Hi all,
My first post to MacRumors!
I have to sign in to lots of networks at my work, when I travel, etc. and I'm getting tired of always typing in my username, which is frustratingly long. Is there some kind of keyboard shortcut that can permanently copy text like a username so I can just press "option command something" and it pastes it in?
Thanks,

Are you talking about web sites? If so, check out Lastpass. I am using it and love it.

Thanks Waynep. I want to be able to use a keyboard shortcut to paste my username into the "username" field. I normally have to do this at least 10 times a day (long story), so it gets frustrating...
To tell you the truth, I don't want a downloaded program to save my passwords for me. I prefer a simple keyboard shortcut...
thanks,

found this topic with a search before asking same question.

i'd like to always have my email address copied and ready to paste (say command + option c and c + o and p) or something.

is there a way?

You can use a text expander app, such as one of these.
