I'm using my earphones all the time because I hear better and am better heard, and avoid irradiating my brain. The problem is that each time I want to use the earphones I have to untangle the mess resulting from carrying the earphone cable in my pocket (I roll it up over my fingers before putting it away but with time the mess unavoidably returns). It takes me 10-20 seconds of untangling before I'm able to actually use the earphones.

If you're a frequent iPhone earphone user and have a trick to deal with this, I'd greatly appreciate your advice!

There is a case that has a clip designed to wrap your earphones around. I just cannot recall the name.

I have a case from an old pair of Sony earbuds. The earbuds are in my gym bag, and are never gonna go back into the case again. It works perfect for the iPhone earbuds. You stuck the buds in, close the case, and wind it up. Takes a couple seconds to get them out.

This isn't mine, but it is the same exact thing I use:

Thanks all, something like the old Sony earbud case would be great, however I must have thrown mine away more than a decade ago :-(

Did you ever consider not wearing headphones?

Or not being overly dramatic

ZOMG my headphones are tangled, my 10-20 seconds have been WASTED, WASTED I TELL YOU

just wrap your headphones around your iPhone if you use them alot, or wrap them around your four fingers before you put them in your pocket

If ever I just need to take out my headphones for a little bit (going up to a bank teller, sitting in class, at lunch with friends, etc.) I will just take out the headphones from my ears and tie them behind my neck.

How is he being over-dramatic? It seems that you're the one with the caps lock and such.

10-20 seconds of trying to untangle headphones means missing a phone call.

Very good method.... I do that.....

Get yourself some mints in a small tin, eat them, dump them, whatever, then wrap the cable, starting with the 3mm insert, around three fingers. Tuck the resulting loop into the tin and the buds into the center of the loop. When you need to get them out quickly, you grab the buds and the whole bundle unravels neatly in a split second. Plus you have a protective case for your buds.

I use an old coin holder - a leather pouch with a closure that you pinch to pop it open. The metal that forms the clasp is covered in the leather. I round up the wire and, with the buds dropped into the pouch, close the clasp over the wire bale. When it's time to rock, I pop the clasp and the wire drops free and then the buds come out. That's for the included Apple buds. My Klispch S4i came with the exact same type of holder, except that it's made of fabric. It has the metal pop clasp and all.
