Is there a tracker that works well iPhone?

I've recently lost a backpack with valuables in it camera etc and I am wondering if there is a tracker that I can place in my backpack in the future that connects to my phone and show me the last known location at least?

I think there are a few products like that out there. But do they actually work well and what is your experience with them? Which one would you recommend?
