is there a .ts converter to MPEG 2?

i know on the PC side theres something that can convert .TS files to MPEG2 or something like that. I was just wondering if theres a similar program on the MAC side that will do this?

I asked in the basics section but no one responded so hopefully someone will respond here

I don't know if it can do it, but I'd try ffmpegX.

MPEG Streamclip is the right tool for this job. You need QT Pro and the QT MPEG playback component for it to work. It's a free app.
