I know they did away with the Water Damage Indicator in the iPad 2 but has it returned in the new iPad?

In an effort to quell the "tide" of water damage tampering, there is no longer a hidden water damage indicator inside the iPad. When water damage occurs, the wallpaper becomes locked to the image below, and the icons are scattered about...

Lol if this really poped up on your home screen, lol there'd be so many people w heart attack ! Lol

Here is how to check.

Get a bucket, fill said bucket with water (salt preferably).

Go and get your iPad, I will wait here....

OK, got it?

No, right, how about now? OK, good.

Turn the iPad on, drop it in the bucket.

Leave it for about 3 minutes, this has to be done to ensure the thoroughness of the test.

Remove the iPad from the bucket of water with rubber gloves.

Check all holes and ports, if you see a pink/red spot where it was once not, it is water damaged and Apple can tell.

If you see no red, take it to apple, see if they will replace your now busted iPad.

I checked with a flashlight and can't find any on ipad 3. (pod connector and headphone slot), didn't look at sim slot..

A google search says Apple has relaxed their water damage policy and that ipad 2 didn't have them anymore, the store just check for corrosion on the SIM card slot on 3G models. (not sure how ipad 2 wifi ones are checked)

No idea if there is....but when I went to return my new iPad for a speck of dust on the screen....the Genius DID shine a light in the headphone jack.
