Is there a way to always show the watch face for the Always On Display?

I don't like how when the display dims, if I'm in an app, it shows the blurred app instead of the watch face. Or if I view a notification, it shows the blurred notification in the background.

Is there anyway I can make the watch face always show when the screen dims, and then when I wake it back up, I'll be back on the app?

Bonus question: Is there a way to make notifications just hide after viewing them rather than staying in the background for the next time you wake the watch up? This is similar to my above question, but more specifically about notifications only.
