Sometimes on my station, a song that I like plays, but it's NOT the original recording. It's a crappy re-recording done later by the original artist when they weren't at their best (WHY do artists do this?), a bad live version of it, or otherwise.

I'm tempted to hit "Dislike" on it, but I'm worried this will dislike the song in general, and not just THAT version. And there doesn't seem to be an way to undo "Dislike", so I don't want to blacklist a song I like from ever playing again, just THAT version.

Has anyone had experience using "Dislike" for that purpose? Did the correct original recording of the song ever play? Did the crappy remake stop playing?

Dislike has no influence at all.

A few days ago my AM subscription got renewed. I just canceled it and gave up on AM. The lossless sound is divine. The playlists are bad. I hit 'don't like' on several songs. AM just keeps playing them. AM seems to generate some playlists for all without taking your preferences in account. The system is brainless. That also explains why the music stops after a while, contrary to Spotify.

Spotify's algorithm is superior but their podcast suggestions were driving me nuts. You have no idea what Spotify might throw at you. Upon disliking a song Spotify does say they will not play that song again and they don't. With AM I went several times into the menu to dislike a song and notice it being disliked already. I don't know how stupid the AM algorithmic is but it must be a new standard.

I actually just selected a free internetradio. The sound quality is less but while typing my rant I did not feel like needing to skip, which I can't, but it beats diving into AM all the time hitting next. Jeezes Apple, guess you'll keep the money of the rest of the month.
