Not by manually looking with your eye and moving the window to the middle, but by doing it through OS X? For example, a Safari window.

When I moved from Windows 7 to OS X last year the most annoying thing for me was not having keyboard shortcuts to manipulate the windows.

The best purchase I've ever made is SizeUP (It does have a center window)

Google it

You can get BetterTouchTool, which can be used for all sorts of things for many devices. You can add functionalities to Magic Mice, Magic Trackpads, the standard Macintosh mouse, and any keyboard. I have the F5 key assigned to centering windows myself.

Or BetterSnapTool, same developer as BetterTouchTool but just for window management.
I use it all the time, excellent app.

How come BetterSnapTool costs $2 but BetterTouchTool is free?

Also, does BetterSnapTool allow centering windows? I see that it is great for splitting displays in half or into four.

Yes it does, via cursor or keyboard shortcut.
I was going to upload a shot of the preferences pane but I keep losing my connection (having fun here )

If you don't require all the features of BetterTouchTool then BetterSnapTool is a standalone application for window management, the cost which supports the developer.
