I want to burn a movie that is about 10mb too big to fit on the disc.

Is there a program out there that will shrink this file for me?

(DVD2OneX does not do the job, already tried.)

Have you tried Creating An Archive of the BIN from the File menu? On some BINs it shrinks them but on others it actually makes them larger.

i did it and it created a filename.zip

then when i tried opening the .zip file, all i got was 'permission denied' or some garbage error message

any other ideas?

Get a larger CD-blank? (90 minute)

See if there are any unneeded "extras" in the BIN file. You could use vcdgear to extract the MPEG from the BIN and make your own new VCD from the MPEG...
